Deciphering Planets thru de Houses
If u know ur time of birth, u r able to calculate ur astrological Houses. The Houses of Western astrology embody different themes of our life journey. I think of the natal chart as a mansion with many rooms. The rooms themselves aren’t defined by natural dimensions of space, but rather their door. The doors transport u to different simulations creatively informed by House sign, planetary influence, & (if a major cusp) aspects.
For example, 1H is the House of Self. It indicates the energy we project out into the world. Through our 1H, we learn through looking in the mirror — but, instead of seeing ourselves, we see people’s reactions to us. The 1H indicates our natural, automatic responses to our environment, and the mannerisms we develop to secure our self-identity (and thus, as indicated by the 2H, our bag). With 1H in Virgo, the image I project is someone who is critical, communicative, and service-oriented. Over time, I’ve become aware that I present myself as someone with a genuine desire to serve and a penchant for improvement.
On the other hand, 7H is opposite the 1H and represents the House of Others. In this staging, others are the mirror — but instead of seeing them, you see yourself. Particularly, the aspect of yourself that is not so instinctively acted upon. With 7H in Pisces, the mirrors I attract represent a fluid, intuitive response to life. On the flip side of Virgo’s hyperfixation and analysis is Pisces dissolution into Spirit, and a sensitivity to and trust in the unseen nature of things.
